A substance abuse prevention and treatment agency
serving the communities of Cape May County since 1982

Cape Assist Counseling Program:

We believe in treating the whole individual - body, mind, and spirit.  Our approach to client care is a client - centered approach in the belief that true change comes from the internal motivation of the individual.  We meet the individual where he/she is in the treatment process in the hope of helping to elicit positive change. The following services are offered for clients with substance abuse related issues or co-occuring substance abuse related issues:

Intensive Outpatient Program - An intensive outpatient program or IOP, consists of regularly scheduled sessions of structured addiction treatment and mental health counseling. Our current IOP schedule:
Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 4:30P.M. to 7:30P.M.
Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 9:30A.M. to 12:30P.M.

Relapse Prevention - (RP) is a cognitive-behavioral approach with the goal of identifying and preventing high-risk situations such as substance abuse. Relapse Prevention group is held once a week on Wednesdays from 4:30P.M. to 6:00P.M. and second group from 6:00P.M. to 7:30P.M..

Individual/Family Counseling - Counseling focused on the problem of addiction faced by the individual, and then works with behavioral therapy and other methods to eliminate the use of the addictive substance.

Anger Mangement -is a psycho-therapeutic program for anger prevention and control. It has been described as deploying anger successfully. Anger is frequently a result of frustration, or of feeling blocked or thwarted from something we feel to be important. Anger can also be a defensive response to underlying fear or feelings of vulnerability or powerlessness cause by substance abuse.

Disclaimer: All group and sessions may be subjected to change at which point clients will be notified as soon as possible.
